Bazaar <http://bazaar.canonical.com/> is a Canonical project and part of
the GNU project <http://gnu.org/> to produce a free operating system.

Thanks to everyone who contributed patches, suggestions, and feedback.
Special thanks are due Vincent Ladeuil, without whom this release
would not have made it out the door in time to be a part of the next
Ubuntu Long-Term-Support release (16.04), and from whom I have been
learning a great deal.

Bazaar is now available for download from
https://launchpad.net/bzr/2.7/2.7.0 as a source tarball.

There is another source tarball that is nearly identical and equally
valid (signed by the same developer) available on PyPI - the Python
Package Index.[0] We used to point from PyPI to the source tarball on
launchpad, but PyPI[1] now requires us to host any downloads locally.
This requires an additional PKG-INFO file which is now part of our
normal tarball creation process. Thus, from now on there will be no
need for two tarballs.

Volunteers are welcome to build a windows and an OSX installer. When
those are created they will be available at the above link.

Bazaar is also available for *BSD through the ports ecosystem at
thanks to Matthew Fuller.

This release marks the start of a new long-term-stable series. From
here, we will only make bugfix releases on the 2.7 series (2.7.1,
etc), while 2.8 will become our new development series.

This <https://launchpad.net/bzr/+milestone/2.7.0> is a bugfix release
(20 bugs fixed) over the 2.6 series focusing on test issues triggered
by various python 2.7 updates.

All known fixed bugs are included here.

Users are encouraged to upgrade from the other stable series. bzr 2.7
will be the last series with active python 2.6 testing and support.
Python 2.6 hasn't received any updates since v2.6.9 of 29 Oct 2013.
Python 2.7.9 of 10 Dec 2014 was the oldest version to receive a
security fix with ssl library's match_hostname.

Since this is our very last beta, I'd like to remind packagers and plugin authors that a special care should be taken to precisely identify which revisions of which plugins are targeted at the 2.5 series and ensure that the plugins are compatible with 2.5b6 (and keep paying attention during the early days of 2.5.0 ;).

with python2.4.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Quickly after the beta was made available on debian sid
we had two reports of http://pad.lv/799212 . The fix has already
landed on trunk and will be available in 2.4b5. It impacts anybody
with a bazaar.conf containing some non-ascii chars but only when no
BZR_EDITOR environment variable is set. So the workaround is to set
BZR_EDITOR to a valid editor.
bzr 2.4b3 released2011-05-31T13:23:50.812934+00:002011-05-31T13:23:50.763046+00:00tag:launchpad.net,2011-05-31:/+announcement/8455Vincent Ladeuilhttps://launchpad.net/~vila
We have a new beta release: the third one in the 2.4 series (2.4.0 is planned to be released in August 2011).

Our beta releases are suitable for everyday use but you may encounter small incompatibilities with some plugins.

Since this is our third beta, most of them have already been addressed though; so file bugs for the remaining ones !

All fixes done on our previous stable releases are included (it's always the case but it's worth reminding).

I'm happy to thank everyone who contributed to this release whether you sent merge proposals, patches, suggestions and feedback, this is much appreciated, keep them coming !

This is the first beta of the 2.4 series, leading up to a 2.4.0 release
in August 2012. Beta releases are suitable for everyday use but may
cause some incompatibilities with plugins. Some plugins may need small
updates to work with 2.4b1.

2.4b1 includes a new changelog merge plugin, better configuration for
external merge tools and some enhanced features for the configuration
files.

It also includes bug fixes for 2.0.7, 2.1.4 and 2.2.5 and ~40 fixes of
its own so all known fixed bugs are included here.

This release marks the start of another long-term-stable series. From
here, we will only make bugfix releases on the 2.3 series (2.3.1, etc,
and support it until August 2012), while 2.4 will become our new
development series. The 2.1 and 2.2 series will also continue to get
bugfixes. (Currently 2.0 is planned to be EOLed circa September 2011 and
will receive only critical bugfixes.)

This is a bugfix and polish release over the 2.2 series, with a large
number of bugs fixed (>130), and some performance improvements. Some
features have been enhanced including commits on stacked branches,
upgrades of related branches, shortcut URL schemes for ubuntu and debian
on launchpad and better conflict resolution.

Only bugfixes from other stables series have been included since 2.3b5
so all known fixed bugs are included here.

Users are encouraged to upgrade from the other stable series.
bzr 2.2.4 released2011-02-08T12:29:48.447815+00:002011-02-08T12:29:48.313495+00:00tag:launchpad.net,2011-02-08:/+announcement/7732Vincent Ladeuilhttps://launchpad.net/~vila
The Bazaar team is happy to announce availability of a new

Important notice:

2.3.0 will be released next Thrusday as our new stable release.
2.2.4 is targeted at people who can't afford to upgrade to the 2.3
series for packaging reasons: Ubuntu maverick users are such an example
but this may be true for other distributions.

OSX and windows users will be better served by waiting a few days for
2.3.0 (the installers are currently being build and tested).

People subscribing to the ppas will receive 2.2.4 first, quickly
followed by 2.3.0.
